How to Clean a Braun 7526 Shaver

by Maxwell Payne ; Updated September 28, 2017

It is important to keep an electric shaver clean to continue getting a smooth shaving experience. Braun makes a wide variety of electric shavers. The Braun 7526 shaver is part of the Braun Series 7 electric shavers. Like many electric razors, the 7526 can be cleaned manually by using the included brush. Proper cleaning should be done at least weekly to keep the blades sharp and the shaver operating optimally.

Items you will need

  • Cleaning brush (included with shaver)
  • Light machine oil (optional)
Step 1

Turn off the electric razor and locate the release buttons on either side of the blade cover foil. When the foil cover is lifted, turn on the razor for 5 to 10 seconds to free up hairs and debris in the blades. This should be done after each use.

Step 2

Remove the cover foil when the razor is turned off. Holding down the release buttons while gently pulling will lift up the cover foil and eventually disconnect the cover from the razor.

Step 3

Tap the cover foil on a flat surface such as the counter top. Tap it gently so that you do not bend or damage the foil.

Step 4

Take the small cleaning brush and brush the inner parts of the shaver. Run the brush across the cutting block and the pivoting heads.

Step 5

Apply a drop of light machine oil directly onto the shaver cover foil. Braun recommends this for those with sensitive skin. This oil can be purchased at various hardware stores and also at some stores that sell electric razors.

Step 6

Replace the cover foil carefully, until it clicks back into place on the release buttons. Allow the machine oil to dry before use.

  • Don't let stubble and hairs build up under the foil. Lift the foil after each use to tap out build-up inside the shaver.

Consider a Clean and Renew automatic cleaning system made by Braun. This device cleans the shaver overnight. It is usually sold separately from the shavers, although some models sold in special packaging may come with this. This is optional and can be used to replace the manual cleaning method described.

  • Always make sure the shaver is unplugged and turned off before opening the cover or cleaning the shaver.
