Sometimes in the frantic pace of everyday life, it's hard to remember to communicate appreciation for the man in your life. There are many ways to show appreciation to your man -- and you can foster deeper intimacy at the same time.

Encouraging Words

As you go through your day, look for ways to lift up your man. In her article "What Every Man Wants Every Woman to Know," Denise Wade, Ph.D., notes that you can encourage a man by intentionally noticing his positive character traits. Finding times to thank him for how hard he works and turning complaints into requests so he will feel needed demonstrate your appreciation.

Your Undivided Attention

Your actions mean as much as, or even more than, your words. An article in "Women's Day" notes that many men consider multitasking the same as being distracted or not being fully engaged. Making conversations or activities a priority when you are together shows the importance you place on your man. Looking him in the eyes when he is talking to you and responding thoughtfully to his questions or comments gives him assurance that you are interested in what he is saying.

Lovin' in the Kitchen

The adage "the way to a man's heart is through his stomach" holds true today. Women Living Well Ministries suggests that regularly preparing your man's favorite foods demonstrates selflessness and a desire to please him. Even if your man likes everything you make or prefers to do the cooking himself, you can surprise him with a special dish that shows him that you are thinking of him.

The Little Extras

Sometimes appreciation is best expressed by little things. Find small ways to show your man that you are thinking of him throughout the day. Write him a letter telling him how much he means to you, wear his favorite outfit, greet him warmly after work, plan a special activity you know he likes or buy him something frivolous he would never buy for himself.
