Clip-on sunglasses are a stylish and practical addition to your eyeglasses as they are easy to snap on and off depending on the light levels. They are also easier to carry around than full sunglasses, which take up more space. Unfortunately, designer clip-on sunglasses are expensive and often lacking in design and variety. Fortunately, it is easy to design and build your own clip-on sunglasses choosing from a variety of different designs.
Unscrew the arms from a pair of cheap sunglasses using a mini screwdriver.
Grasp and straighten out a paperclip with a pair of needle-nose pliers. Straighten the wire out slowly to prevent it from snapping.
Cut the paperclip wire in half using a pair of wire cutters. Slide one wire through each hinge screw hole on each side of the sunglasses.
Use the needle-nose pliers to wrap half of the wire around the hinge, keeping it firmly in place. Curve the remaining part of the wire inward toward the inside-back of the frames. Do the same with the wire on the other hinge.
Place the clip-on sunglasses over your eyeglasses and bend the wires on each hinge of the sunglasses up and around the hinges of the eyeglasses to keep them in place.
