Stauer watch bands have a reputation for durability and overall quality. They rarely need to be fixed or replaced out of necessity. However, there are times that a Stauer watch band will break and needs to be replaced, or perhaps its just time for a change of style. Whether you choose a leather or metal band for your Stauer, you can quickly and easily replace it yourself.
Remove the band from the watch case. Position the watch on its side. Use a spring bar tool to remove the spring bar from one side of the watch.
Measure the space between the lugs on the watch. Alternatively, measure the width of the old band. Using these measurements, purchase a new band.
Insert the spring bars from the old band into the ends of the new band. Insert the end of the new band with the spring bars into the opening in the side of the watch case. Use the forked end of the spring bar tool to snap the spring bars into place.
Repeat Steps 1 and 3 on the other side of the watch.
