A kitchen theme is a perfect idea for a bridal or wedding shower to help the married couple acquire items for their new home and set up the kitchen. Since games are a traditional part of all bridal showers, make the games fit the theme as well. By taking some common games and putting a kitchen spin on them, everyone will easily understand how to play and the games will enhance the theme of the party.

Spice Quiz

See how well everyone knows their spices. Remove the label or cover up the label on several spice jars. Place a numbered sticker on each bottle (numbered 1, 2, 3...). Set all the spices on a tray and pass it around the tables. As the tray is passed around, have guests write down their guesses as to what each spice is. The person with the most correct answers wins. Afterward, the bride gets to keep all the spices.

What's Cooking Challenge

See who the real chefs are amongst your guests. Find recipes for 10 to 12 classic, common dishes. Start to read the ingredients one by one. Guests are supposed to guess what the recipe is, the first person to correctly guess "what's cooking" earns a point. The person with the most points at the end wins. The bride gets to keep all the recipe cards.

Famous Food Word Scramble

Create a word scramble using the names of famous foods, dishes, chefs and restaurants. Type and print on sheets. Give each guest a sheet and give them five minutes to unscramble as many words as possible. The person with the most correct wins.

Chef's Apron

Test your guests' memory. Pin several kitchen items such as a ladle, toothpick, dish towel, trivet, sponge, spatula and measuring spoon onto an apron. Tie the apron onto the bride and have her walk around in it as guests arrive. Once the shower officially begins have her take the apron off. Later in the shower as you play games, ask guests to write down as many items they can remember on the bride's apron. This memory game will be sure to get everyone thinking hard.
