Making shoes slippery can be done for many reasons. For instance, perhaps you want to make them slippery so you can move more fluidly while dancing. Alternatively, you could just make shoes slippery to play a prank on someone. No matter the reason behind making shoes slippery is, the process is very simple. However, make sure the shoes you are working with are to be made permanently slippery, as it is very difficult and often impossible to reverse the process.
Hold the shoe with the rubber sole facing toward you.
Using a sandpaper square, begin to wear down the treads of the shoe, starting at the toe area and gradually working your way to the heel until the entire shoe is smooth to the touch. Use a course grade sand paper so the shoe is more easily worn down. Do this in small, concentric circles. This could take many hours to do, so be patient.
Apply two to three drops of olive oil to a dry paper towel.
Rub the olive oil on the bottom of the shoe. This will remove any remaining shavings of the rubber and further smooth the sole of the shoe. Let the olive oil sit for a few minutes before wiping it off with a dry paper towel.
