Celebrities model the angled bang in red carpet pictures all over the Internet. Unlike these icons, you do not need an expensive haircut to achieve this look. Angling your bangs is achievable in a few minutes from the comfort of your own home. Bangs can then be styled to achieve a sleek look or styled to stand out in a curly bob.

Items you will need

  • Scissors
  • Comb
Step 1

Comb your hair into sections. It is important to identify your hairline and separate your bangs from the rest of your hair. If not, you will have thick bangs and a choppy hairline. If you have layers, identify the short layers from your bangs. Pin your hair back and comb your bangs in front of your eyes.

Step 2

Determine the direction you want your bangs angled. Grip ends between two fingers and take scissors and cut at a downward angle.

Step 3

Cut a little and test the length. Start small. If it is still too long then cut a little more. Angle the bangs into your hairline so they blend in with your preexisting cut.

Step 4

Blend your hair. Once you have created the angle, grip the ends between two fingers and angle the scissors to the ceiling. Snip the very end of your bangs, this will blend any hair you missed and make the bangs blend into the rest of your hair instead of appear harsh.

Tips

  • Look in the mirror as you cut so you can monitor the length and the look as you go. If needed, have a friend or family member complete this process.

Warnings

  • Do not cut from the bottom up. Your hair will bunch and you will cut more than you intended.
