The Kinetic Perpetual watch is part of the Kinetic series of watches manufactured by Seiko. It is named "Perpetual" because it has a mechanical perpetual calendar that will be correct until February of 2100. The seiko kinetic watches convert the kinetic movement of the user into electrical energy that powers the watch and charges the battery. The Kinetic Perpetual has a "Power Save" or "Sleep" mode that keeps the time and date correct for up to four years when the watch isn't worn.
Swing the watch 4 to 5 times to activate the "Time Relay Function." The watch hands will reset to the time stored in the watch at the factory.
Swing the watch 4 to 6 times with a steady rhythm of twice per second to wake the watch from "Power Save Mode." If the second hand moves at two-second intervals, swing the watch approximately 200 times to generate the power to run the watch for a day.
Pull the crown out to the second click. Turn the crown to adjust the hands to the correct time. Use the 24-hour indicator to ensure that the time is correct for AM/PM. Push the crown to the original position.
Pull out the crown to the first click. Turn the crown until the leap year indicator changes. Adjust the year to a leap year, or a leap year plus one, two or three. For example, 2011 is a leap year plus three, while 2012 is a leap year.
Turn the crown until the month indicator moves. Continue to turn the crown until the month indicator points to the correct month.
Turn the crown until the numbers on the date indicator move. Adjust the date to the correct date. Push the crown to the original position.
