How to Wear a Vest With Jeans for Men

Even the most style-savvy men sometimes shy away from wearing a vest. Unsure of how to match vests with other items in their wardrobe, they fail to use this versatile garment to their advantage. When paired with jeans and the right accessories, a vest can help create many chic combinations that are suitable for a number of different occasions.

Pair a pinstripe vest with a white V-neck T-shirt and jeans of any wash to create a casual, playful look. Complete the look with suede loafers.

Wear a solid colored or argyle sweater vest over a long-sleeved T-shirt or polo in the fall and winter. Match with light washed jeans for a great way to keep warm in style.

Pair a dress shirt, tuxedo vest and narrow tie with dark-washed jeans. This modern twist on the tuxedo is a stylish look for a night out on the town.

Skip the shirt and wear a vest by itself if you want to make a splash at an informal dance party or nightclub. Add a belt with an embellished buckle to your jeans to finish off the look.

Tips

  • Avoid pairing two bold patterns together. If wearing a patterned vest, opt for a solid-colored shirt, and vice versa.
