Sweet brown rice is a soft, sticky brown rice that is sometimes called sushi rice because its texture lends itself well to sushi rolls. Although it is considered a glutinous rice because of the sticky texture, it does not contain dietary gluten and is safe for those following a gluten-free diet. Sweet brown rice has a nutty, slightly sweet flavor that also makes it ideal for desserts such as rice pudding.
Combine all ingredients in a pot and bring to a boil.
Stir to make sure all ingredients are evenly distributed and cover.
Reduce the heat and allow the pot to simmer, covered, for 45 minutes.
Remove the pot from the heat. Allow it to stand, covered, for 10 minutes.
Fluff the rice with a fork and serve.
