Pink lemonade is a suppertime staple, a classic drink that brings a sense of nostalgia. It brings me back to lemonade stands on the side of the road when I thought making two dollars for a day's work was pretty great. One thing that hasn't changed over the years is my love for this pink drink that is as pretty as it is delicious. It can be made in a variety of ways, but here are two of my favorite.
Combine 3/4 cup of sugar with 1 cup of water in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil and dissolve sugar completely. Turn off heat and chill.
Slice strawberries and remove stems. Squeeze lemons over a strainer until you have 1 cup of juice.
Process the strawberries in a food processor or blender until smooth.
Strain your strawberry puree through a fine mesh strainer and discard pulp. Gather strawberry puree, lemon juice, simple syrup, and 4 cups of water.
Pour all ingredients into your pitcher and stir to combine. Chill thoroughly and serve over ice.
