Birthday Party Finger Foods for 14-Year-Olds

Knowing what type of food to provide for a young teenager's birthday party can be confusing. Teenagers are not as easy to please as a typical young child is and do not enjoy every type of food normal adults enjoy. Therefore, you must find some middle ground. By purchasing finger foods and knowing exactly what the average young teenager will enjoy, you will make the teenagers at your 14-year-old's birthday party happy.

Nacho Platter

Nachos are an ideal finger food to provide for your teenager's birthday party. This platter can be as simple as pouring hot nacho cheese over tortilla chips. However, if you want to create a special nacho experience, put more than just nacho cheese onto the tortilla chips (or leave it out completely). Beans, white cheese, ground beef, chicken, tomatoes, jalapenos, and chilis are just some of the items you can pour over the tortilla chips. Feel free to mix and match, because with nachos you can never have too many tasty items poured over the chips.

Miniature Hamburgers

Not as big as regular hamburgers but not too small either, miniature hamburgers are a quick and easy food that is sure to please the average teenager. These burgers consist of ground beef patties the size of dinner rolls; however, when cooking the ground beef you must mix in a small packet of dry onion soup to give it a boost of flavor. When cooked, place each patty between two dinner rolls, place cheddar cheese atop the patty, and place the teenager's favorite condiments between the dinner rolls to have an abundance of miniature burgers that are sure to please.

Pinwheels

This popular finger food consists of cream cheese, olives, and bell peppers wrapped inside flour tortillas. To create them, mix together cream cheese, taco seasoning and picante sauce until the mixture is smooth. Place the black olives and peppers onto a tortilla shell and spread the mixture atop the entire tortilla. Finally, fold the sides of the tortilla inward, fold the bottom of the tortilla up, and roll the tortilla to the end. Cut 1/2 inch slices of the tortilla and you will have your pinwheels.

Pizza Rolls

Pizza rolls are an incredibly popular appetizer enjoyed by people of all ages. To really surprise the teenagers with pizza rolls that will not easily be forgotten, cook some homemade pizza rolls. To create, cook a pound of Italian sausage and drain it. Add spaghetti sauce and allow it to simmer. Unfold several wonton wrappers and put a teaspoon of the sausage mixture onto each wrapper. Sprinkle cheese atop the mix and fold the wrappers into a tight pocket. Place the wrappers into a deep fryer and fry the wrappers until golden brown. Drain each wrapper, allow it to cool, and set it out for the teenagers to eat; if a teen loves pizza rolls, he will definitely enjoy your homemade pizza roll.
