Getting rid of eyebrow hair is easy, but it can get expensive. Shaving your eyebrows might do the trick, but if you want a more permanent solution, try laser therapy or electrolysis. Laser therapy removes about 40 to 80 percent of hair, according to HairlessNYC.com. Electrolysis is another option that will get rid of eyebrows for good. Both procedures will require a few treatments.
Laser Hair Removal
Get a series of laser hair treatments. Be sure to choose a professional who has a proven track record and who can tell you if you are a good candidate for laser therapy. Depending on your hair type and skin color, you may or may not be advised to try laser hair removal. Consider electrolysis if laser hair removal does not suit you.
Get a treatment every month or every other month as recommended by your doctor.
Do at least four to seven treatments to see a permanent reduction of approximately 80 percent of your neck hair by the end of the treatments. Dr. Grossman, a cosmetic laser dermatologist and researcher, says that 80 to 90 percent of patients will see this percentage of hair reduction.
Consider a yearly maintenance treatment, as advised by Dr. Grossman.
Electrolysis
Select a certified electrologist to zap away eyebrows permanently by destroying follicle growth. Electrologists can be certified by passing a national exam.
Ask if the electrologist is licensed by your state. All states except Minnesota and Illinois regulate electrologists. Schedule a consultation if your electrologist is licensed, or at least certified if you live in Minnesota or Illinois.
Stick with it over a series of treatments. The number of treatments you will need will vary. The cycle of your hair growth, genetics, stress, the structure of your eyebrow hair and hormone function will all influence how many treatments you will need to get rid of eyebrow hair. Treatments may take place over 12 to 18 months for a complete cessation of eyebrow hair growth.
