Store-bought birthday cards are always a thoughtful way to wish someone a happy birthday. A 60th birthday is a big event in somebody's life. If you want to give a card that is even more special than just a generic card, try a personalized message to make your recipient's birthday extra special.

Sweet Message

A few ideas for a sweet 60th birthday message include: "You're not getting older...just more special! Happy 60th!" "Just like fine wine, you grow better with the years! Happy 60th Birthday!" or "Youth is a work of nature, but age is a work of art! You truly are beautiful! Happy birthday!"

Funny

If you want to make your recipient laugh, try the following: "After 60, never go to a doctor whose office plants have died," or "You are 60! Now is the time to make your mark on the world – explore the Antarctic or become an astronaut. Make your mind up to take on exciting new challenges - right after your afternoon nap."

Birthday Poem

Poet Joanna Fuchs wrote this poem for a special birthday":

Birthday Blessings

Instead of counting candles, Or tallying the years, Contemplate your blessings now, As your birthday nears.

Consider special people Who love you, and who care, And others who’ve enriched your life Just by being there.

Think about the memories Passing years can never mar, Experiences great and small That have made you who you are.

Another year is a happy gift, So cut your cake and say, "Instead of counting birthdays, I count blessings every day!"

Happy 60th birthday!
