
When attempting to locate a missing person in Dallas, Texas, you should contact a local law enforcement agency to file a missing persons report. Under Texas law, the law enforcement agency must begin a due and diligent investigation upon receiving the report. A current photograph of the missing person along with a completed Missing Persons Clearinghouse MP-3 Report Form must be submitted to the Texas Missing Persons Clearinghouse. The form can be downloaded from the Texas Department of Public Safety website and completed in advance to speed the process.
Step 1
Go to a local Texas law enforcement agency and file a missing persons report. You may also call the law enforcement agency and request that an officer come to your home to take the report.
Step 2
Submit a "Missing Persons Clearinghouse MP-3 Report Form" to the law enforcement agency to be forwarded to the Texas Missing Persons Clearinghouse.
Step 3
Provide all requested details to the law enforcement officer to aid in the investigation. Submit a current photograph of the missing person to be entered into the Missing Persons Clearinghouse Database.
Step 4
Request a copy of the police report containing the file number for your records.
