Digital Timex Expedition watches are some of the most popular athletic watches on the market. One feature of the watch that many users may grow tired of is the beep, which is sounded each time a button is pressed on the watch. The beep can be easily disabled, although to disable the beep, you must also disable the chime tone that occurs each hour, on the hour.

Hold the "Set" button located on the side of the watch until the words "Hold Adjust" appear briefly on the display, followed by the word "Hold." Once Hold disappears, you will be able to adjust the watch's time.

Press the "Mode" button to cycle through the values of the clock adjustment, such as the Hour, Minute, Date and finally the Hourly Chime setting, which can be identified as a flashing music note, located above the seconds area.

Press the "Start/Split" button to turn off the hourly chime. When the hourly chime is disabled, the button beeps will also be disabled.

Press the "Set" button to save your changes and exit the time settings.
