Moccasins are shoes traditionally made and worn by Native Americans. Today, moccasins are sold and worn worldwide. Moccasins are made of soft leather and stitched together using tough rawhide or leather laces. The laces are typically square-shaped and this shape makes them notoriously difficult to stay tied. As a result, you may find that your moccasins need retying regularly. A simple bow will usually fall out of the leather laces quickly, but this two-loop knot should keep your moccasins tied tight.
Put on your moccasin and grasp one lace in each hand. Tie a simple knot in the laces as you would normally do when tying your shoelaces.
Create a loop in each of the laces. Bring the loose end of the left lace forward and bring the loose end of the right lace back. Do this by holding the loops with your thumb and forefingers then move the loose ends back or forward with your middle fingers.
Use your left middle finger to push the end of the left lace through the center of the right loop. Meanwhile, use your right middle finger to push the end of the right lace through the center of the left loop. The loops will now be alongside one another.
Pull the loops all the way through each other. The loops will now be crossing over one another, which will hold moccasin laces well.
Tighten the bow by pulling gently on either loop. Be careful not to pull the ends right through the bow.
