How to Puree Chicken

Items you will need

  • 4 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Large saucepan
  • Chef's knife
  • Food processor

If you'd like to make your own baby food or have a recipe that calls for pureed chicken, you can do so using a very frugal method that takes little time. Pureeing your own chicken will save you a lot of money, and will ensure that the pureed chicken you are using is as fresh as possible. It will also allow you to control the consistency of the puree. Once the chicken is pureed, you can jar it and refrigerate for a couple of days or freeze in ice cube trays for a couple of months.

Step 1

Place four large boneless, skinless chicken breasts into a large saucepan and cover with enough water to cover the chicken by 2 inches.

Step 2

Bring the water to a boil and allow the chicken breasts to cook for 20 minutes or until they are no longer pink in the center.

Step 3

Drain the water from the chicken breasts and use a chef's knife to chop the breasts into cubes.

Step 4

Place the chicken cubes into a food processor along with a cup of water. Blend the chicken until it is as smooth as you'd like, adding more water as needed.

Tips

  • For a little extra flavor, used canned chicken broth instead of water.
