Everyone desires smooth and supple skin. To achieve it, you must remove excess body hair. Shaving is one of the most common methods used to remove body hair, and although it is time-consuming and expensive, the results are typically satisfying. To achieve smooth skin, many individuals choose to shave daily or every other day. However, this isn’t necessary because there is a way to make shaving last longer.
How to Make Shaving Last Longer

Use a good razor. When you shave your legs, it is essential that you use a good razor for your skin type. If you have dry skin, you’ll want to use a razor that has a moisturizing strip on it, and if your skin is sensitive, you will need a razor specifically designed for sensitive skin. For a close shave, use razors with multiple blades such as a three- or four-blade razor.

Limit how often you shave. The way shaving works is the more you shave, the quicker the hair grows back. Although it might be difficult to do, try going for a few days in between shaves. Over the course of a couple of months, you will notice that your hair will grow back slower and finer. After a couple of months, you will find you can go longer without shaving with even better results.

Choose the best shaving products for you. One of the mistakes many people make is choosing the wrong shaving products to suit their skin needs. Decide what your skin type is and choose products that work for your skin type. For example, if you have sensitive skin, use a shaving gel or cream that suits your skin, and if you have dry skin, choose a moisturizing shave gel or cream. If your skin doesn’t have any particular needs, use whatever products you like best.

After you take a shower, towel dry your body off. While your skin is still slightly damp and supple, apply moisturizer. This will keep your skin smooth and soft and reduce how often you need to shave because it will leave the hair softer.

Exfoliate your skin. Whether you're shaving your face, your legs or anywhere else on your body, it is important to regularly exfoliate. Before shaving, use a gentle exfoliant on your skin. If you are shaving your face, use a gentle facial scrub to avoid irritation. If you are shaving your legs or any other part of your body, you can make a scrub at home by combining equal parts of olive oil and brown sugar. After you have gently exfoliated your skin, shave.
