Craving a warm apple dessert? Don't have time to bake a pie? Make an easy apple crisp that's simple enough for a solitary dessert, but tasty enough for the most elegant of dinner parties.
Peel, core and slice an apple into bite-size pieces.
Mix ½ teaspoon of flour, 1 tablespoon of brown sugar, and ½ teaspoon of cinnamon. Press the apple pieces into the mixture to coat.
Place the coated apple pieces in a small baking dish.
Mix 3 tablespoons of flour, 2 to 3 tablespoons of brown sugar, and a handful of oats. Pour about 1 ½ tablespoons of melted butter into the mixture and stir until moistened. There shouldn't be any loose flour or sugar; add more melted butter if needed. Pour the topping over the apple pieces.
Bake in the oven at 375 degrees F until the top is lightly browned. Serve with ice cream or whipped cream.
