If you've found yourself with excess baggage -- under your eyes, that is -- have no fear. There are an array of cosmetic products that can help diminish the bags and send them packing. Concealing bags and dark circles requires using the right colors that will diminish discoloration and the look of puffiness. Once you've carefully applied a few strategic products to your delicate eye area, you'll look awake and refreshed, ready to take on the day.
Eye Cream Prep
Caffeine is helpful not only in your morning coffee, but also in your eye cream. Select a hydrating product with caffeine, Vitamin C and antioxidants to pretreat the area, prepping it for concealer. These ingredients, particularly caffeine, help to diminish the look of puffiness by promoting blood circulation.
Corrector and Concealer
To conceal eye bags, a corrector may be applied first. This will cancel out darkness and often has a pink or peach undertone. Whether you use a corrector or not, choose a yellow-based concealer that is a shade lighter than your skin tone. Concealers come in stick, pen, cream and liquid formulations. The concealer can be applied over the corrector, or it can be worn alone to brighten the under-eye area and conceal bags.
