What Looks Good With a Bubble Skirt?

A bubble skirt is a fashion-forward alternative to basic A-line or pencil skirts. The voluminous silhouette is flattering because it defines a small waist and visually slims legs. Balance the volume of your bubble skirt with fitted tops and bold accessories; no matter the occasion, you'll be making a style statement.

Party Glam

A bubble skirt is party-ready when it's in a rich, shiny fabric. Keep the focus on your bubble skirt and opt for a fitted top in a neutral color. Tuck a black turtleneck with a three-quarter-length sleeve into a brocade skirt or pair a sleeveless blouse with a metallic bubble skirt. Layer with black opaque tights for cooler temperatures and finish with black ankle boots to add depth to the look. Accessorize a high neckline with chandelier earrings or an open neckline with a chunky necklace.

Casual Comfort

Pair a cotton or jersey bubble skirt in navy or gray with basic separates for a casual look worthy of lunch with your best girls. Try a fitted scoop or V-neck T-shirt and tuck the hem into the waistband of your skirt to define your waist. Complement a navy bubble skirt with a white-and-navy striped tee for a nautical take, or wear a gray skirt with a light gray tee for a sleek monochromatic ensemble. Add a contrasting cardigan to create a layered look and finish with thin bangles. Ground the look with wedges or ballet flats.

Polished Professional

A solid bubble skirt in black, camel or gray is work appropriate when it has a hem that hits at the knee or just above. Top it off with a white button-down or ivory blouse in a slim cut and tuck it into your skirt. Wrap a thin belt around the smallest part of your waist and layer a boyfriend blazer on top. For additional coverage and texture, pair your skirt with patterned tights and heels in a matching color for a leg-lengthening effect. Add an oversized watch or bold cuff to complete the look.

Flirty Fun

A mini bubble skirt can be dressed up for a night out or dressed down for a day of classes. If your skirt has a high waist, pair with a crop top that shows a hint of skin for a flirty night out on the town look. For a more conservative ensemble, try a fitted tank and a cable-knit cardigan or a crew-neck sweater. Add sheer tights for additional coverage and finish with knee-high boots with a sturdy heel. Pile accessories on -- think layered necklaces or statement rings.
