Sweatbands are an important accessory for an active lifestyle, whether playing sports, hiking or just walking around on a hot day. They are most commonly worn on the head to keep sweat out of your eyes or from dripping down your face, but they can also be worn on the wrists or forearms to wipe head sweat away or to keep your hands dry and sweat-free. Besides their usefulness as athletic apparel, sweatbands can be used strictly as fashion accessories to match an outfit or uniform. Tennis players such as Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal are known for matching sweatbands to their outfits on the court, as well as using them to to keep their grip on their rackets and sweat out of their faces.

How to Wear a Sweatband as Athletic Apparel

Step 1

Place sweatband on head, between forehead and hairline.

Step 2

Wear sweatband on one or both wrists.

Step 3

Additional sweatbands may be worn on forearms or calf.

How to Wear a Sweatband as a Fashion Accessory

Step 1

Pick outfit based on color of sweatbands, or vice versa. Make sure the colors are complementary and eye-catching.

Step 2

Place head sweatband on forehead under the hairline to keep hair out of eyes and to act as a headband, or wear it over hairline for a casual look.

Step 3

Additional sweatbands can be worn on wrists, forearms, immediately above the elbow or on calves.
