G-Shock watches are specially designed Casio watches for high-impact environments, such as extreme sports or outdoors work sites. They are composed of a robust housing and an LCD display with scratch-resistant polymer film on top. The benefit of the LCD screen is that the watch is free of moving parts, greatly increasing it's reliability. Painting your watch is a way to make it look unique and stand out from other G-shocks.
Place a piece of cardboard down in an open area. Avoid getting the G-Shock dirty as the debris can get under the paint and ruin the look by causing pock marks. Wash your G-Shock watch thoroughly in soap and water. The G-Shock is waterproof, so don't worry about getting it wet. Dry it thoroughly with a towel.
Place the cleaned G-Shock on the cardboard sheet. Put on safety goggles, respirator and latex gloves. Whenever working with spray paint, take care to protect your eyes from exposure, as well as your lungs. The gloves are more for the sake of cleanliness than anything else. Apply painters tape to the LCD screen of the G-Shock. Place painters tape over the buttons on the side to keep them from being painted in place, as well as the watch clasp to preserve the metal finish.
Pop off the cap of the spray paint can and shake it vigorously for a few seconds. Hold the spray can about 18 inches from the G-Shock and spray with a even spray until the exposed side is completely wet with paint. Grasp the G-Shock on the unpainted side and flip it over. Repeat the painting process for the unpainted side until it is also completely wet. Allow the G-Shock to dry for half a day before wearing it.
