Calories in Cinnamon Toast

Add a bit of cinnamon, sugar and butter to a piece of toast, and it becomes a mouthwatering treat. A delicious piece of cinnamon toast can be a healthy addition to a balanced breakfast.

Calories

A piece of toasted white bread provides 79 calories, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture. A tsp. of butter provides an additional 36 calories, while a teaspoon of sugar provides 16 calories. Cinnamon contributes no more than two calories to the toast. All together, a piece of cinnamon toast has approximately 130 calories.

Basic Nutrition

Many of the calories in a piece of cinnamon toast come from carbohydrates. You will get approximately 19 g of carbohydrates, 3 g of protein and 4 g of fat. You can reduce the amount of fat by using a lower-calorie spread rather than butter.

Benefits

Use whole grain bread rather than white bread when you make cinnamon toast, and you'll benefit from an additional gram of fiber in each serving. The cinnamon on the toast may also help to lower blood sugar levels.
