Homemade Natural Pore Reducer with Egg White, Vinegar & Lemon

by Darla Ferrara ; Updated July 18, 2017

When pores clog with oil and dead skin cells, they can stretch and enlarge. Shrinking pores back to size requires two things, unclogging and something that works as an astringent to stimulate the pores to close. There is no clinical proof that egg whites reduce pore size. However, they create a sticky base that works well for a facial mask that may help to unclog pores. Once you add lemon juice and apple cider vinegar as astringents, you may reduce pore size.

Break two eggs and separate out the whites.

Slice a lemon in half. Squeeze 1/2 of the lemon over the egg whites to add 3 or 4 drops of juice. As an alternative, add a few drops of bottled lemon juice.

Pour 1 tsp. apple cider vinegar into the egg whites.

Whisk the egg white mixture until foamy.

Wash your face with a mild cleanser.

Dip fingers into the egg white compound and smooth a thin layer over skin. Avoid applying near the eyes. Leave the mask on for 10 to 15 minutes and then wash off. Moisturize face with a light, noncomedogenic lotion.
