Tips for Skipping the Lines at Disney World
Disney World is a bucket-list experience for every family, so you'll want to ensure you get the best out of your trip. Knowing the ins and outs of the Florida theme park helps make your time there even more enjoyable. One of the most important tips is using the Disney World FastPass+, an included amenity that allows you to make timed reservations for rides and attractions. Be sure to read up on how to arrange reservations ahead of your trip.
What Is a Disney World FastPass+?
A Disney World FastPass+ is an included perk with your Disney World ticket that allows you to book entry into select attractions and rides during a one-hour time window. It's basically a reservation for a particular ride that ensures you don't have to stand in a long line. Instead, you and your kids just show up at the desired ride or attraction at the allotted time and hop on.
How Do You Get a FastPass+?
FastPass+ is included in your ticket price and automatically available to all ticket holders. Once you purchase a ticket you can begin making FastPass+ selections as early as 30 days before you arrive at the theme park; those with a Walt Disney World Resort hotel reservation can book choices 60 days prior to arrival. To make advanced FastPass+ reservations you need to register an online account on the Disney World website. Link on My Disney Experience and enter each of your tickets, including those of your kids. The booking window opens 30 days ahead at 7 a.m. EST, so be sure to have your choices ready to go.
How Many FastPass+ Selections Can You Get?
You can book up to three FastPass+ selections ahead of entry into Disney World and make additional reservations in the park once you've completed your first three rides. To make more reservations while at Disney World, use the My Disney Experience app or the park's onsite kiosks.
Can You Change Your FastPass+ Reservations?
It's not a problem if you change your mind after booking your first three FastPass+ reservations. You can modify your reservations online, using the My Disney Experience app or at the park's kiosks. This can be especially helpful if you're running late and need to select a later time slot for one of the rides, or if there's a popular attraction you forgot to book.
Is It Worth It?
Yes, definitely. Every parent knows that standing around in line is tedious for both kids and adults. No one wants to wait two hours to ride Space Mountain, so FastPass+ is a great option to ensure that more time is spent enjoying the park and less time is spent waiting. Plus, it's free, so if you don't take advantage you're essentially wasting part of your included admission price.
