Opened in 1934 in order to connect the city of Tampa, Florida with the town of Clearwater, the Courtney Campbell Causeway is just under ten miles long. Given its proximity to the Gulf of Mexico, the restaurants located on this section of the road feature many seafood dishes like sauteed salmon, jumbo shrimp platters, and ahi tuna burgers, but filet mignon and chicken and pasta dishes are also available.
Featuring both an outside patio for its guests and an indoor circular dining room with linen-covered tables, the Aquaknox seafood restaurant offers a number of seafood specialties. Included are a grilled Atlantic fresh salmon platter prepared with salsa verde and served with yellow pepper coulis roasted tomato salad. Meat lovers can order the filet mignon dinner that features steak prepared with Canadian bacon and served with madeira mustard sauce. The ahi tuna burger comes with fresh cucumber and is served with French fries. In summer 2010, dinner entree prices were in the $22 to $35 range.
