How to Keep a Man's Face Looking Young

by Chris Sherwood

Like women, men need to take care of their face on a daily basis but some may view this as vain or unmanly. However, women like men who care for themselves, so if you want to look younger and more healthy, maybe it's time to start a face grooming regimen. It may seem like a lot of work but the results are undeniable.

Step 1

Create a daily routine. Certain products need to be used on different parts of your face at different intervals. Each day it is important to use a facial cleanser, moisturizer and eye cream. The facial cleanser removes the sweat and oil from your face that can clog your pores and cause breakouts; the moisturizer keeps your skin from drying out; and the eye cream protects your eyes from the wrinkles that cause your face to look aged.

Step 2

Create an every other day routine. This will consist of an exfoliator, lifting serum and wrinkle corrector. The exfoliator takes off the layers of dead skin that may be on your face; the lifting serum over time will firm up your skin; and the wrinkle corrector helps to fill in any wrinkles that may be starting to call your face home.

Step 3

Create a once a week routine. This is more of an optional step but can really help your skin. Try a hydrating mask once a week to tighten your skin. There are a host of masks on the market that are specifically developed for a man's skin.

Step 4

Create a once a month routine. If you find that when you run your hand across your forehead there are a lot of small bumps, you may need to use a microdermabrasion cream once a month. This will help to smooth your face and make it look fresher.

Step 5

Take care of your body. What you eat and the lifestyle you choose can really affect the health and appearance of your skin. Smoking or eating a diet high in fats can do severe damage to your face. Giving up these habits can not only affect the look and feel of your face, but they will also give you huge health benefits in the long run.

  • Look for products that are marketed specifically to men. In most cases, the more you spend, the better the product is going to be. However, you do not have to buy top of the line to get results.

  • With microdermabrasion creams and exfoliators, your skin will need time to heal between uses. Be sure to only use them at the recommended intervals listed on the product's label.
