How to Clean a Ceramic Curling Iron

by Jay Darrington

Ceramic curling irons have a smooth surface so hair is not pulled or damaged. Most have a temperature control feature so the iron can adapt to all types and textures of hair and never have your hair end up frizzed or burnt. The smooth ceramic surface makes cleaning your curling iron quick and easy. Any styling products that have been left behind can be easily removed.

Items you will need

  • Rubbing alcohol
  • Cotton ball or pad
Step 1

Unplug your ceramic curling iron and make sure it is cool to the touch.

Step 2

Pour some rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball or pad.

Step 3

Wipe the ceramic curling iron with cotton ball or pad. This will remove all the styling sprays and gels that have built up on the curling iron. Repeat this step if necessary.

Tips

  • Wiping your curling iron after each use will make cleanup easier and your curls better.

Warnings

  • Always unplug your curling iron before cleaning. Make sure to give your curling iron time to cool before you touch the ceramic part.
