Homemade Bubble Bath With Baby Oil

by Crystal Marie

A bubble bath is relaxing for adults and makes bath time fun for children. Unfortunately, commercial bubble bath products often have a strong fragrance or may contain ingredients that can irritate eyes or sensitive skin. You can make a gentle, lightly scented homemade bubble bath with baby oil for children or adults. Baby oil adds a clean, fresh scent to homemade bubble bath and is safe for all ages.

Items you will need

  • Water
  • Salt (optional)
  • Baby shampoo
  • Baby oil
  • Measuring cup
  • Measuring spoons
  • Small wire whisk
  • Plastic bottle with a lid
Step 1

Put 1/3 cup water into a measuring cup. Add 1 teaspoon salt to the water, if desired, and stir until dissolved.

Step 2

Pour baby shampoo into the cup with the water until the liquid reaches the 2/3-cup mark. Add 2 tablespoons baby oil to the cup. Stir the mixture gently with a wire whisk to combine.

Step 3

Pour the mixture into a plastic bottle. Keep the bottle close to the tub and pour a tablespoon or two under running bath water to create bubbles in the bath.

Tips

  • You can use homemade bubble bath as a body wash as well. Substitute unscented shampoo for baby shampoo, if desired. Double or triple the ingredients to make a larger batch of bubble bath. Give small decorative plastic bottles filled with homemade bubble bath as gifts.

Warnings

  • To avoid eye irritation, use only baby shampoo for children’s bubble bath.
