Grapefruit juice is loaded with nutritional benefits. Many believe this juice that is rich in vitamins A and C can facilitate hair growth.


Grapefruit juice contains about 20 percent of the recommended daily allowance of vitamin A, which considers one of the essential vitamins to strengthen hair follicles.

Meal Plan recommends a breakfast of bran cereal accompanied with skim or soy milk and a glass of grapefruit juice as an ideal meal plan for long, shiny and silky hair.

Citrus Lift

Mix 1/4 cup each fresh grapefruit juice, club soda, orange and lemon juice, add a drop of sage essential oil and apply to hair. This citrus lift cleanses hair and restores shine and vitality, says Justin Depasquale, creative director for Depasquale, the Spa in New Jersey.

Alternate Uses

According to, grapefruit juice also treats acidity, insomnia, fatigue and sore throat and even promotes weight loss.


The FDA warns that grapefruit juice “interacts negatively with certain drugs.” Avoid if using blood-pressure-reducing medicine.
