The Timex Triathlon wrist watch accurately tells time using both the analog and digital time-keeping system. With features such as an alarm, chronograph and countdown timer, the Timex Triathlon is a time-keeping system that would be equally helpful for athletes, sports enthusiasts or students. You can learn to use the Timex Triathlon watch in just a few minutes.
Setting the Analog Time
Your Timex Triathlon watch is equipped to tell time with an analog clock, as well as a digital clock. To set the analog clock on your Timex Triathlon, pull on the watch crown and turn to set both the hours and minutes on the watch. When you're finished, push the crown back in.
Setting the Time and Date
To set the digital time and date on your Timex Triathlon, press and hold the "Set" button until the seconds flash. Set the seconds to "00" by pressing the "Split/Reset" button. Select hours by pressing the "Mode" button. Use the "Split/Reset" button to reach the desired hour. Use the same procedure to set the minutes on your watch. Repeat to set the month, date and day of the week on your Timex Triathlon. When you're finished setting the time and date, press the "Set" button.
Using the Chronograph
The chronograph feature on your Timex Triathlon watch can be used to monitor athletic performance. Use the chronograph by pressing the "Mode" button to display the chronograph screen. Press the "Start/Stop" button to begin timing. Record split or lap times by pressing the "Split/Reset" button. To pause the chronograph timing, press the "Start/Stop" button; to resume, press the "Start/Stop" button again. Reset the chronograph by pressing and holding the "Split/Reset" button.
Using the Countdown Timer
The countdown timer on your Timex Triathlon watch can be used to count down to important events. To use the countdown timer, begin by pressing the "Mode" button until the timer screen is displayed. Press the "Split/Reset" button to select between "Countdown and Stop," "Countdown and Repeat" and "Countdown and Start Chrono." Press "Set" and wait for the hours to begin flashing. Use the "Split/Reset" button to reach the desired hour. Repeat the same procedure to set the minutes and seconds on your countdown timer. When you are finished setting the timer, press "Set" to save your settings. Start the timer by pressing the "Start/Stop" button, press "Start/Stop" again to pause the timer, and press "Start/Stop" once more to resume timing. After the timer has stopped, press the "Stop/Reset" button to reset the countdown timer.
Setting an Alarm
The alarm feature on your Timex Triathlon watch can be used to wake you from sleep or remind you of important appointments. Set an alarm on your Timex Triathlon watch by pressing the "Mode" button until you reach the alarm screen. Press the "Set" button to select hours and cause the hours place to flash. Use the "Split/Reset" button to reach the correct hour and then press "Mode." Set the minutes for your alarm using the "Split/Reset" button; then press "Set" to save the alarm when you are done. Press "Start/Stop" to turn the alarm on. When the alarm sounds, you can silence it by pushing any button on your Timex Triathlon.
