Since the 1980s, Maui Jim has been the purveyor of sunglasses throughout the globe. The company, based on Maui, Hawaii, guarantees its products to be free of defects for two years.

Coverage

With worldwide coverage, Maui Jim's warranty against damage and defects are effective for the first two years of original ownership. Though the company will repair or replace the product free of charge at its discretion, shipping fees are the owner's responsibility.

Exceptions

According to the Maui Jim website, "The warranty does not apply to normal wear, including lens scratching or accidental breakage."

In addition, Maui Jim is not responsible for repairing prescription sunglasses' lenses, but the company can repair a damaged or defective frame from a prescription pair.

Conditions

To claim a warranty, you must send the company the following documents along with the actual pair of sunglasses: the original proof of purchase, including a copy of the original sales receipt, and an explanation of why the glasses were damaged or defective.
