How to Propose in French

How to Propose in French. French is often considered the universal language of love. Many people would like to propose in French, but do not know how. Follow these steps for proposing in French.

Write down everything you would like to say in your proposal. However, be sure to keep the proposal short if you do not know any French and will need to memorize every syllable.

Rather than depending on a translation dictionary or computer program, seek the help of someone fluent in both French and English.

Spend time everyday working on memorizing the proposal.

If your girlfriend does not know any French, you will need to devise a plan for letting her know what you are saying. You could simply say the proposal in French and then in English. Or, you could be more creative.

When you are ready to leave for the proposal, read over your speech one last time.

Don't forget the ring!

If you forget the speech, just say it in English. The moment will be one you will look back on and laugh about in the future.

A toast with a glass of French wine is the perfect way to top off your proposal in French.
