The restaurant franchise Applebee's allows organizations to hold "flapjack fundraisers," events where guests purchase tickets for a pancake breakfast at an Applebee's restaurant. The sponsoring organization gets to keep a majority of the proceeds raised from the ticket sales. So how do you go about organizing such an event? The process is rather simple.
Contact the management of anl Applebee's restaurant to find out if that location participates in flapjack fundraisers. Often, the restaurant management will be able to direct you to a participating location if their location does not host flapjack fundraisers.
Schedule an available Saturday for your flapjack fundraiser. Applebee's hosts flapjack fundraisers from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Saturdays. The restaurant will provide staff, kitchen facilities, silverware and plates, and prepare the food. The staff will also give you a flapjack fundraiser ticket template to sell before the event takes place.
Promote your event to your community and other relevant organizations. Applebee's requires a final count for the number of people who will be participating the Friday before the event. Your organization is allowed to sell a maximum of 400 tickets.
Gather a group of volunteers to work at your flapjack fundraiser. These volunteers will be responsible for greeting, seating and serving guests, as well as cleaning up after the event.
