Place 8 oz. of softened cream cheese in a large mixing bowl.

Add one half-cup of salsa to your mixing bowl. Stir in one tablespoon of lemon juice. Lime juice may be substituted.

Using an electric hand mixer, gently blend the cream cheese, salsa and lemon juice until they are well-mixed and creamy.

Place your Mexican cream cheese dip in an airtight plastic container and chill in the refrigerator for at least one hour. Storing longer or even overnight allows the flavors of this dip to develop fully and makes it even tastier. Serve with tortilla chips, crackers or as a topping for nachos or a spread for tapas.

  • Add salt and pepper as needed to season this dip.

Add finely chopped jalapeno peppers to make it even hotter.

Add finely chopped tomatoes for added taste and texture.
