How to Make a Deep Cleansing Facial Mask. Treating your skin with a weekly facial mask is a great way to take care of yourself and feel more confident. It can be relaxing to take time for yourself. The skin on your face can attract dirt and grime, especially if you wear moisturizer every day. Homemade deep cleansing face masks can thoroughly cleanse and can be just as good as professional ones. Plus, the ingredients are easily accessible. Read on to learn more.

Wash your face and neck with your favorite face soap with warm water and rinse thoroughly. Make sure the water is not too hot and gently towel dry.

The first optional facial mask is to mix together 3 tbsp. green clay, 2 drops rosemary essential oil and 2 drops lemon essential oil.

The second optional facial mask is to use milk of magnesia. No other ingredients are needed.

Apply either option evenly on your face and neck, making sure that you avoid the eye area. Leave it on for 10 minutes and rinse with warm water. Dry your face gently with a soft towel.

Follow with a facial toner to tighten your cleansed pores. Apply a liberal amount with a cotton ball on your face.

Finish with your favorite moisturizer. Enjoy your radiant new look!

Tip

  • In place of green clay, white or pink clays can also be used but are not as deep cleansing as the green. However, consider using white or pink clay if you have sensitive or dry skin. A great inexpensive toner is witch hazel. Store it in the refrigerator for a refreshing feeling after a mask.
