Honey has been used for thousands of years not only as a natural sweetener, but also to heal a variety of diseases and as a topical cream. Honey has been used to treat wounds due to its extensive antibacterial properties. However, whether it is being stored to help wounds or sweeten tea, liquid honey is generally kept in jars. Storing honey is a simple process that can be done at home with only a few tools.
Pour the honey in to the saucepan and heat it over a low flame. Stir the honey to ensure that it is completely smooth. This melts any crystallization that has formed. Remove honey from the heat.
Place the funnel in the top of a canning jar. Pour the honey in to the jar, leaving 1/4 inch of headspace.
Place the lids on the top of the jars and screw on the rims tightly.
The honey can be used for an indeterminate period of time. If it begins to crystallize again, repeat the heating to make it completely liquid again.
