Leather gloves can tear for a variety of reasons, including misuse and general wear. If the tears are small, you can repair them with flexible leather glue. This glue will hide the tear and make it nearly invisible. You can repair tears up to 1 or 2 inches in length using this method, but it will not be effective for replacing fingers that are completely torn from the glove. Use patience when making the repair for best results.
Put the glove onto your hand, exposing the torn leather. Place some leather glue onto a popsicle stick and rub the glue between the torn edges of the crack. Try not to get any glue on the lining of the glove.
Press the two sides of the leather together along the tear. Hold the leather together for about 30 seconds, or until the glue sets. Wipe any excess glue away with a soft cloth.
Remove the glove carefully, and allow the glue to set for 24 hours. If the tear separates, press it back together after removing the glove.
Place a small amount of leather filler around the tear to hide the mark. Allow the filler to dry for 24 hours.
Dip a small sponge into leather dye. Dab the dye onto the filler and the area around the tear to recolor the glove. Allow the dye to dry for 24 hours.
Apply leather conditioner to the gloves with a soft cloth to soften the leather and prevent future tears from appearing.
