The expense of replacing ruined stockings adds up quickly. Here is how to fix a tiny run or hole with clear nail polish before the damage becomes irreparable.
Act immediately. Holes and tiny runs quickly tear apart the weave of the stocking.
If you are wearing the stockings, insert a tiny piece of paper or tissue behind the hole or run to protect your skin.
Remove excess nail polish from the brush and then dab the polish around the hole or at both ends of the run.
Remove excess polish from the stockings with nail-polish remover on a cotton swab. The polish will be visible after it dries, especially on dark-colored stockings.
Check to make sure the polish is not adhering to the paper or tissue, and then allow the polish to dry for 3 to 5 minutes.
