Cheerleading shoes get dirty easily, especially if your cheer squad practices outside in the grass. On game days cheerleaders typically stand on the rubber track surrounding the football field to cheer and if it's a red rubber track, shoes will soon have red skids marks. Just like the uniform, cheer shoes must always be in pristine condition for competition or any performance. If your cheer squad wears Nike brand cheer shoes, cleaning them only requires a damp cloth and mild soap.

Items you will need

  • Soft cloth
  • Mild soap
  • Soft bristle brush
  • White shoe polish (optional)
Step 1

Dampen a soft cloth with cold water and rub a little mild soap on it.

Step 2

Clean your leather cheer shoe with the damp rag, wiping off all the dirt and debris.

Step 3

Clean your synthetic leather cheer shoe with the damp rag and mild soap or use a soft bristle brush dipped in cold water and mild soap to gently scrub. Allow the shoes to air dry.

Step 4

Apply white shoe polish with a damp sponge, if necessary. Most shoe polishes will already have a sponge attached to bottle for easy application. Allow to dry for about 15 minutes.

Tips

  • Saddle soap, a mild soap used to clean leather, is recommended by Nike.

Warnings

  • Do not immerse or soak your shoes in water for any reason. Do not machine wash or machine dry your cheer shoes
