A Greek yogurt, lemon juice and turmeric mask not only serves as an all-natural and affordable alternative to off-the-shelf facials, its ingredients pack a triple punch for skincare. While the lactose enzymes of Greek yogurt cut through dirt and turmeric provides plenty of skin-friendly antioxidants, lemon juice goes to work on oily complexions. The use of turmeric for skin care traces its roots to India where it's often used by Hindu brides, but you can pamper your skin with this anti-aging facial even if it's not your wedding day.
Combine 1 tablespoon of gram flour -- which also goes by the names besan, chickpea or garbanzo bean flour -- and 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder in a small bowl.
Add 3 tablespoons of plain Greek yogurt and a few drops of lemon juice. Stir the mixture slowly with a spoon until it takes on a rich, creamy consistency, like a paste.
Clean your face with a gentle cleanser and dry it thoroughly with a clean towel. Apply the paste to your face and neck and allow it to rest for 15 to 20 minutes. At the end of this period, your skin should feel a little tight.
Wash the mask off with warm water, then rinse your face with a splash of cold water. Pat your face dry with a clean towel and apply your favorite light moisturizer.
