Wearing a swimsuit, tank-top or spaghetti straps can be very embarrassing when you have dark underarms. Some causes of dark underarms include excessive shaving, wearing tight clothing, infections, dead skin build-up, or alcohol and chemicals found in some anti-perspirant deodorants. The good news is that there are at-home remedies for this issue common issue. After taking the necessary steps to lighten your underarms, you will no longer have to feel self-conscious about wearing sleeveless garments.
Rub a slice of lemon under your arms. Leave it on overnight and wash it off in the morning. Lemon has natural bleaching properties, and can be used as a skin lightener. In addition, it works at getting rid of dead skin cells. This can also aid in lightening the color of your underarms.
Apply potato juice to your underarms. Let it remain there for 20 minutes, then wash it off. Potato works as a natural bleacher.
Wax your underarms instead of shaving them. Shaving can cause infections and contribute to the darkening of your underarms. Regular waxing will not only remove underarm hair, but dead skin cells as well.
Combine a mixture of turmeric powder, lime juice and juice extracted from a cucumber. Apply this to your underarms and let it sit for 30 minutes before washing it off.
Rub baking soda and vitamin E oil under your arms after showering or bathing. Wash it off with coconut oil. This combination works to lighten dark areas of the skin, while also working as a moisturizer.
Make a mixture of rose water and sandalwood. Apply this to your underarms for 15 minutes before washing it off. Not only will this mixture reduce infections under your arms, but it will also reduce darkness.
Use proper hygiene.
Don't wear tight clothing, that will rub and irritate your underarms.
Use an anti-fungal powder in the place of your usual deodorant.
