Severely dry skin can cause you to itch more than usual and be uncomfortable. The skin itself may look dull, red or flaky. Dry skin is common on the arms, hands, lower legs and stomach and is caused by several factors, including exposure to hot or cold weather, low humidity or excessive bathing. Treat your severely dry skin with a homemade moisturizing cream. If your condition doesn't improve within a week after using the cream on a daily basis, consider seeing a dermatologist to further treat the problem.
Cocoa Butter Cream
Mix two tbsp. of grated beeswax with two tsp. of distilled water in a pot and melt over low heat on the stove.
Add 1/2 cup of cocoa butter to the melted beeswax and stir. Once well blended, gradually add 3 tbsp. of sesame oil, 2 tbsp. of coconut oil and 1 tbsp. of olive oil to the mixture. Stir until well blended.
Remove the pot from the heat and pour the liquid into a jar. Let the mixture cool. It will thicken upon standing.
