Water filtration vacuum cleaners use water as the filtering system. This is not the same as a vacuum cleaner that uses water to clean your carpets. Water filtering systems pump the air that sucks dirt out of your carpet through water before venting it. The water captures the dust and dirt so that it is not released into the air.
