Many women and men like to update their look with hair dye. However, sometimes hair color mishaps can happen. Perhaps the hair color turns out too dark or too red. You can remove color by visiting a salon or purchasing a commercial hair color removal. However, those strategies can be damaging and hard on the hair. Before turning to professionals, consider some natural remedies.

Shampoo

One way to remove or drastically fade your hair color is to shampoo your hair multiple times with a clarifying shampoo. Shampoo your hair two or three times a day for a few days in a row. As this can be damaging, make sure to use a moisturizing conditioner after shampooing.

Hot Oil

Oil is another natural ingredient that can pull dye out of hair. There are various types of oil, including coconut and olive oil, and both are detrimental to hair color-- which is a good thing if you are trying to remove hair color. Olive oil can be used with heat to make it even more effective. Coconut oil should be used without heat. Slathering oil on the hair and washing it out a few times can be effective in removing hair color.

Vitamin C

Use vitamin C tablets to try and remove hair color. Crush up the tablets and dissolve them in water. Put this mixture into a shampoo bottle and use it as you would shampoo. This can be repeated for several days as well.
