When tailoring your own clothes it is important to be able to get the proper center back measurements. You can easily take your own center back measurements with a pen, paper, and a measuring tape.
Take Center Back Body Measurements
You will like to find the area in the back of your neck that your shirts naturally start at. This is easy top do while wearing clothes. Take your right hand and to the top of your shirt. From this point find your center by feeling the bones at the base of your neck. You might be able to do this a little easier by bending your head towards the floor. The bone that protrudes is where you will begin your measurements.
Once you find the center spot take your measuring tape and hold it in place with your right hand while letting the tap fall naturally along your back.
