Ball caps can take years of regular wear until they perfectly fit your head. Most people fight with their new hats and fold or bend them in an effort to make them fit comfortably. Often, the "new hat" look is undesirable, and nothing feels as good as a broken-in piece of clothing. It is possible to get your hat into perfect shape without the long wait. With some patience, and a little discomfort, your hat can have the perfect fit within a day.
Soak the hat in lukewarm water until it is totally saturated. You may want to wash it in the dishwasher if it has become soiled.
Remove your shirt and place a towel around your neck. Keep an extra towel nearby to soak up running water.
Take the cap out of the water and shake off as much water as possible.
Place the wet hat on your head and wait for it to dry. This may take several hours. Shape the bill into the curvature that you prefer while it is still wet.
Go outside or into a warm room to speed up the drying process. Do not remove or move the hat around, as this may distort the shape.
