Sugared almonds are a tasty and easy to make appetizer or snack. For an elegant appetizer, serve sugared almonds in pretty bowls at holiday parties and other special events. These almonds can also be packaged in festive tins, bags or boxes and given as gifts. While usually served as a snack or appetizer, sugared almonds can also add a crunchy and sweet element to salads and other dishes. Experiment with different nuts and spices to create unique flavor combinations.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Spread almonds on a baking sheet and bake for approximately 10 minutes. Let the almonds cool. Reduce the oven's temperature to 325 degrees.
Beat the egg white and water until foamy. Add white sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon and salt to the egg white mixture. Mix until fully combined. Stir in the almonds.
Spread the coated nuts onto a greased baking sheet and bake for approximately 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Remove nuts from the oven and separate onto wax paper. Store in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to one week.
